If you're still in your twenties or thirties, you probably don't know the actress Miou Miou. Because this French actress began her career before you were born, the majority of you, including myself, are unfamiliar with her. Despite the romantic tone of this chapter, everything shifted when she discovered that the man she fell in love with was a pimp. The film is titled that way because she compelled her to work as a prostitute.
I'm shocked there aren't any nude moments in this film. I thought the film would be about a prostitute, but I suppose that's exactly what it was about.
She received two Cesar nominations prior to winning the award. The film's name was F comme Fairbanks. The drama film was shot in 1976. Because I couldn't find any information on anything that old, I don't know what it was about. Only a year after the last one was produced, This Sweet Sickness is the name of the other film.
For the next 20 years, she continued to be nominated for the prize. In 1997, she was last nominated for the Cesar prize. She received the Lumieres Award for the Best Actress, even if she didn't win it. The film Dry Cleaning earned her that honor.
It makes sense that Sylvette produced movies that were mostly broadcast in France, given that she is French. Although a few movies were released worldwide, they were still in French. You'll have to get used to seeing movies that aren't in English if you want to see Miou Miou in action, even though I know that some people, including myself, don't enjoy them.
