The United States is home to a plethora of male rappers. Without even breaking a sweat, I could list more than five. In truth, there aren't as many female rappers, and it's still difficult for women to succeed in this field.
One of the most significant discoveries of recent times, Iggy Azalea, will be the subject of my discussion today. Keep reading if you're curious. We will learn more about her life, her story, her mistakes, and her achievements. Keep an eye out for more!

You may recognize Iggy Azalea, the firecracker from down under, better as Amethyst Amelia Kelly. In addition to rapping, this Australian woman is also killing it as a model on the runway. And let's mention her accomplishments: She has won accolades from the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and a VMA. She even received a nod for four Grammys!
Go back to when a 16-year-old Iggy packed her bags and flew to the United States in pursuit of her aspirations of making it big in the music industry. With songs like "Pussy" and "Two Times" on YouTube, she made a splash. Her music attracted the attention of record labels, and eventually she joined forces with T. I. 's Grand Hustle label, giving us her mixtape, Ignorant Art. The year 2014 then arrived, and wow! We received The New Classic.
The New Classic album was a masterpiece. Iggy became the first female rapper not from the United States to achieve that feat when she assumed her throne at the top of the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list. With singles like Work and the legendary Fancy, as well as, oh, that duet with Ariana Grande on Problem? Unadulterated fire. She even took the top two slots on the Hot 100 with a chart-topping double-whammy.
However, life had other ideas for her. Digital Distortion was her plan, but label drama and personal blunders put a stop to that. However, Iggy, our girl, doesn't give up. In 2018, she left her old label, started her own, called Bad Dreams, and released Survive the Summer. In 2019, she released In My Defense, and in 2021, she released both The End of an Era and Wicked Lips. Talk about making a comeback in style!

After arriving in the United States in 2006, Iggy lived in both Miami and Houston because he was unsure of which city to choose. She met FKi and Natalie Sims in Atlanta after forming a partnership with the Dungeon Family rap group. Despite receiving criticism for her rapping, she maintained her composure.

Iggy dominated the news in 2013! As the opening act for Rita Ora's UK tour, she released her first song, Work, and made the audience cheer. Then, bam! A pact with Mercury Records! She is out there performing carnival sets, organizing album releases, and even won a slot in Australia to open for Beyoncé herself, Queen B! She even had time to dance with Robin Thicke at the MTV Europe Music Awards in the midst of the mayhem.
Leave, a mystery track, by December 2013. It was made available online. Universe of stealth! As it turned out, Iggy's "Fancy," which was about to be released, became a smash and captivated our minds. It was utterly sophisticated, flashy, and cheeky! Iggy made it to the US Billboard Hot 100 at last.
She was going full speed by the start of 2014. She kept rising through the ranks with the release of the amazing "Clueless"-themed music video for Fancy. This Australian woman was unstoppable! She possessed a unique combination of swag, humor, and a hint of an "I don't give a damn" mentality. Iggy, go!
Iggy's Wild Ride Through Life and Music
In 2015, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea released a duet called Pretty Girls. It's a hit! Iggy, however, cancels her Great Escape Tour, leaving fans wanting more. She also devotes time to fine-tuning her images and music, even throwing away six months' worth of labor.
Iggy revealed her new album, Digital Distortion, and released a free song in 2016. She's also busy launching a production company, purchasing Australian television shows, and negotiating contracts with NBCUniversal. Additionally, she serves as a judge on The X Factor Australia.
However, things occur in life. Iggy breaks off her engagement, postpones the album, and chooses to take a vacation. She claims that she needs some alone time. Iggy, we understand!
She's releasing tracks left and right in 2017, including Mo Bounce and Switch. At the iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards, she even goes up on stage and displays her behind. However, she then says, Wait, I can't publish music until 2018 because of label stuff.
She ultimately discloses this in 2018. It's like, make up your damn mind; Survive the Summer is an EP, not an album. The EP starts at a dismal number 144 on the Billboard 200 after she releases a few songs. Then she says fuck you to Island Records, launches her own label, secures a lucrative distribution agreement, and declares, I'm the boss now, bitches.
In My Defense and Wicked Lips
The year 2019 approaches, and Azalea announces that the album is complete, the song is forthcoming, and, by the way, "Kream" has earned gold status. She then abandons Sally Walker, and that shit rises above all else she has done since 2016. She releases another single, appears on Jimmy Kimmel, and even collaborates with VVAVES for Boys Like You. Furthermore, why not have her on the cover of Cosmopolitan?
She then says she's releasing another EP, but she's unsure whether she'll go on tour. We're all simply attempting to keep up with this catastrophe as she releases Wicked Lips and drops it in December.
What Happens After the End of an Era?
When 2020 arrives, Azalea releases her third album, with the first single being a collaboration with Tinashe. But then the single tanks, and she's like, Just kidding, here's the real lead single with Tyga. She tells us that the album will be released in August, she tours with Pitbull, and then she adds, I'm taking a break, bitches. She returns a year later and says, "JK, I'm back. Ozzy Azalea came from the land of kangaroos, but damn, girl sounds like she just waltzed out of a Southern U. S. BBQ joint. Why? She formerly stated, "All the folks who taught me to rap come from the South... And by the way, think again if you thought Fancy was merely hip-hop. It's really electro-hop. Indeed, it exists!
Who stirred up her passion for hip-hop? It's all about Tupac Shakur, kid! When his song Baby Don't Cry hit her in the feels, she was only an 11-year-old Australian munchkin. It's likely that her room had a complete shrine to him, next to her kangaroo poster. In addition to Tupac, Queen Bey (Beyoncé) and Missy Elliott also rock her boat. Iggy has stated on record that she has some Aboriginal heritage. You know, the eye illness that only affects Aboriginal people.
